Films & Documentaries

Through films and documentaries, Theatre for Humans is proud to help tell the stories of people who struggle to survive unspeakable hardships in the United States and across the globe.  Our goal is to bring awareness to their stories and to the many people working tirelessly to bring about positive change in the world.

we need to be many

Produced from hours of video recorded during our research trip to eleven countries, "we need to be many" shines a light on the humanitarians we met and the life changing work they do everyday.   From the slums of Nairobi, Kenya to sex tourism in Thailand, to the landmine fields of Goma, DRC, this film brings awareness to the challenges women and girls face on a daily basis and the unsung work being done by humanitarians around the globe.

We Need To Stand Up

Featuring Valerie Amos, the former Under-Secretary-General and Emergency Relief Coodinator for the United Nations, this short documentary provides insight into the issues faced by women and girls around the world and the challenges relief organizations encounter when providing assistance.

A film by Gwendolen Cates.
