Just received this photo from our friend Peninah Nthenya, the founder of Safe Spaces in Nairobi, Kenya.  She has been campaigning to raise high school tuition money for the girls in her program.  Happy to say that Theatre for Humans was able to help get the word out and the girls pictured above are outfitted in their school uniforms and getting ready for another year of education.

They finally arrived!  It took more than a month, but the uniforms donated by the L.A. Spent the day with women at the Sarakasi Trust in Nairobi.  The Sarakasi Trust is an organization started by a couple from the Netherlands.  They work to help people trapped in the slums escape a life of poverty using arts programs such as dance, acrobatics and juggling.  The Sarakasi Dancers and Acrobats travel internationally and I was lucky enough to watch them rehearse.  The dancers are amazing athletes and it was gre...
