In case you haven’t been checking out our Facebook page lately, we wanted to fill you in on the latest info we have received about two other organization’s programs and efforts on behalf of women and children around the world.
CARE, an organization that has been instrumental in our project’s research, is partnering with Global Poverty Project’s “Live Below the Line” campaign where you can take the challenge and see what it would be like to live in extreme poverty – meaning you can’t spend more than $1.50 on food each day. The campaign will run May 7-11, 2012 and you can join for one day or all five days. Susan and I are going to give it a try. We invite you to join us. For more information and to take the challenge visit: http://www.livebelowtheline.com/us-care.
Godiva Chocolates has just introduced a new program called Lady GODIVA to honor and recognize women around the world that are doing good work on behalf of others. Their first National Honoree is Lauren Bush Lauren who co-founded the FEED Projects. She was one of the co-hosts for the Women in the World Conference we attended in NYC. FEED projects sell “feed” bags with the proceeds going to provide meals to children around the globe (each bag represents, based on the number on the bag, the number of meals or years a child is fed). To date, they have fed over 68 Million meals to hungry/starving children. Most of their work is done through the UN World Food Programme. Check out their website at: www.feedproject.com.
